Muhammad Yahaya Barma, popularly known as Comrade Barma, is a highly dedicated and influential individual who served as the State Secretary of the BAT Initiative for Good Governance (BIGG). Throughout his tenure, Barma displayed tremendous commitment and played a crucial role in promoting the presidential election campaign of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. His efforts were instrumental in driving strategies and implementing innovative approaches that ultimately contributed to Tinubu’s victory.
The national secretary Alh. Abdullahi Karaye, and the National Director of Contact and Mobilization Alh. Sunusi Muhammad Garko, of the BIGG, has placed their trust in Muhammad Barma and believes in his ability to inspire and motivate those around him, coupled with his exceptional organizational skills, which made them referred him the “ENGINE ROOM OF THE BIGG” and offered him all the support and encouragement to carry out his secretariat activities as the State Secretary.
One of the notable accomplishments of Barma was the establishment of student wings across all 44 Local Governments of Kano State, including the influential National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) family. Through his leadership and comradery, Barma earned the respect and support of students, creating a strong and unified platform for their engagement in the political process.

Another remarkable initiative led by Barma was the Women Project titled “420k ours” coordinated by Dr. Aisha I. Kiru, and Dr. Ramatu S. Yahya. This project garnered attention not only within the state but also at the national level, catching the eye of the APC national Deputy Women Leader, Hajiya Zainab. In recognition of its impact and success, Hajiya Zainab visited Kano to witness a presentation of the project by Barma himself. This project served as an empowering platform for women, showcasing their strengths and contributions within the political landscape. This initiative sought to empower and mobilize women by supporting their economic empowerment, education, healthcare, and political participation resulting in supporting PBAT’s aspiration.

Recognizing the importance of media and digital mobilization in modern politics, Comrade Barma, also recognized the significance of media in shaping public opinion and driving the campaign’s narrative therefore, Comrade Barma established a dedicated Media and Digital Mobilization Team. This team, under his guidance, successfully utilized digital platforms to strategically disseminate information, coordinate press engagements, and manage public relations. The Media Team’s efforts contributed significantly to ensuring a positive and influential portrayal of Tinubu’s candidacy in various media outlets.

Another standout accomplishment was the generation of over 500,000 member registrations through the BIGG website. This indicates the wide-ranging appeal and impact of the organization, and it highlights Barma’s exceptional ability to mobilize and engage individuals in the political process through the application of digital innovations that generate support and membership for the party. His efforts resulted in an impressive registration of over 500,000 members nationwide through the BIGG website, which was also developed by the visionary leadership of Barma.

In his efforts Comrade Barma to expand the party’s reach and connect with diverse demographics, in promoting Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Barma was instrumental in introducing the Kannywood entertainment and artist forums, including renowned names like Gone File Industry, Kanawa Family, Baba’ari Comedian, Hajiya Maryam CTV, and others. Through his strategic approach, Barma established links between the entertainment industry and the political groups, thereby attracting a broader audience and fostering increased support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Comrade BARMA’s efforts in ensuring the victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the BIGG State Secretary included the implementation of a comprehensive Voter Education System Program. This program was designed to educate voters on various aspects of the electoral process, with a special focus on conducting fair elections and effectively utilizing electronic voting devices.
One significant aspect of the program was training voters on how to handle electronic voting devices. With the increasing use of technology in the electoral process, it became crucial for voters to be familiar with the operation of these devices to ensure accurate and efficient voting. Comrade BARMA’s initiative recognized this need and took steps to educate the electorate on the proper use of these devices, enhancing their confidence and competence in utilizing them during elections.
